Synopsis

The movie is about how in the modern era, people’s presence in the cyber world is affecting relationship dynamics in the physical world - for good or for worse.

The story is told in two parallel threads that collide with each other throughout the film.

The first thread takes place in the human world, and tells the story of how the life of four teenagers are impacted by the use of social media in sometimes building relationships, while sometimes destroying friendships; sometimes providing purpose in life, while sometimes getting pushed off the rail; sometimes being a channel to spread love and compassion, while sometimes being a vent for bitterness and spite.

The second thread takes place in the cyber world, through a metaphorical personification of the algorithms running behind the social media platforms whose primary aim is to drive the growth of online engagement of users in a way that can be monetized. The algorithms are represented by two cyber characters working as a team - who analyze “human users” and gives them “sellability scores”, devise cunning strategies to tweak their online behavior to increase their “sellability scores”, and then “sell” them to the highest bidder (represented symbolically by cyber marketing representatives of corporations).

The story revolves around how the actions of the cyber characters impact the life trajectories of the human characters.
